Workshop with Model

On September 16th, 2025 we have a model in Crypt.
Model: Marcia De Cubellis, Italian origin based in London. She has been modelling for 2+ years. Marica has experience in various genres, including beauty, fashion, editorial& commercial. Marica also has experience doing similar workshops for other Camera Clubs in London. Attaching images of Marica to this mail for reference.
The objective of this session is Theme based with Marica in 3 costumes for the evening. .
- Classic & Elegant
- Modern / Contemporary
- Pose with Chair
Keeping it simple within the time frame that we have in Crypt and giving every member attending a fair opportunity to shoot Marica:
- Introduction to Model
- Housekeeping & Safety.
- Shoot, shoot shoot.
We will get:
- Backdrop just as the last time.
- Light setup would be the same as we did the last time. Steady LED lights only this time.
- Props (chair, black gloves and a wooden statue).
- Model release form.
What are the objectives we want to achieve in the session?
- We have briefed Marica on various poses for each of the themes.
- Lighting will be explained. We also will try variations of exposure, silhouette etc.
- Madeleine, Carl & I am around to help with composition, lighting, crop etc.
What do we expect from our members attending:
- Visualise and prepare for what you want as a frame under the given circumstances.
- Please feel free to carry any practical props in your visualisation, such as a table lamp, table clock, pen stand, or book stand, cigar, pipe, feather etc. This session is as good as going to any paid portrait workshop. Getting your own props will help you make the most of the opportunity to make your image unique and different from the rest.
- Come prepared with your DSLR (Crops Sensor or Full Frame) or Mirrorless (Crop Sensor or Full Frame), lens ideal would be 24-70mm, 24-105mm, 50mm, 70-200mm with ideal f/1.8, f/2.8 or f/4.0. Batteries fully charged and spare battery.
- Memory card with sufficient space and spare memory card only if needed.
- If you prefer to shoot with a smartphone, get them fully charged.
As a community of members, we must help ease the Committee with the expenses. I propose a minimum voluntary donation of £5. It’s incredibly nominal compared to going for a workshop or renting a model. Anything above £5 would be generous of any member. Amount will be collected at the door & collection on this evening will go to Finance, Antonio.
