Established in 1937, the Hampstead Photographic Society is Northwest London's premier photographic club. The Society welcomes anyone with an interest in photography, from beginners to professionals.
This year’s Summer Exhibition was launched by a private view event on Zoom on Wed 5 May. The virtual exhibition can experienced using page-turning software on Issuu; the printed catalogue can be purchased on Blurb:
Following government advice, our evening meetings are suspended until further notice. Instead, we are using the Zoom service to continue our activites. All paid-up members can join these meetings - details are posted on the Yahoogroup.
The core of our programme is a series of talks by outside speakers, covering diverse topics such as photojournalism, the art of photography, urban/street photography, and travel photography.
We also hold regular competitions, judged by external specialists. These give members a chance to show their work, and have it assessed.
Several HPS members are highly expert in digital photography, and we hold regular talks on digital techniques using our own digital projector.
Finally, we also hold informal Members’ evenings where members can exchange ideas and obtain advice.
Our season runs from September to June.
