Daniela is a photographer and artist living and working in London, UK.  She gained a degree in Fine Art Painting from Kingston University and, although trained as a painter, Daniela had been taking photographs with her father’s Rolleiflex from an early age. Subsequently on her MA degree from the London School of Art, she became increasingly interested in the power of photography to re-invent the objective world.  The interplay of realism and veracity led her to seek alternative ways to convey meaning.

Her practice includes photography, painting and print making, and she has exhibited and sold work regularly.  She was Head of Art & Photography at Teddington Secondary School and is committed to promoting the importance of creativity.

Daniela says “I walk the city observing the details of my surroundings, enjoying a sense of excitement and wonder at the sight of familiar places being transformed into new landmarks. Notions of home and identity shift as the city regenerates, and I am an observer of change.  Photography is my way to engage with the urban landscape, offering a personal interpretation of what I see, using colour, abstraction and the editing process.”
